After completing this course, drivers will be able to:

  • Discuss the physical effects that impact your safety if you work too long without a break.
  • Explain the Department of Transportation’s (DOT’s) 30-minute break rule.
  • Identify the consequences of not taking the required breaks.

  • Introduction
  • Stress & fatigue decrease safety
  • Stop driving after 8 consecutive hours
  • Eight hours of work equals a 30-minute break.

  • Suddenly don’t qualify for exemption? Follow the break rule.

PASS MARK

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
