An active shooter incident can happen in any workplace, at any time. Grounded in a no-nonsense approach to planning and preparing for the unthinkable, this curriculum blends in learnings from the latest FBI research to enhance the Run-Hide-Fight strategy promoted by US Homeland Security. Workers learn specific, actionable steps to defend themselves and others when confronted with an active shooter, as well as how to respond when law enforcement arrives. Easily customize the learning for your specific work conditions, policies, and Emergency Action Plan.

COURSE TOPICS

This online Active Shooter Myth vs Reality course covers the following topics:

  • Distinguish between common active shooter myths and realities
  • Identify words and actions that are potential warning signs for incidents of violence.

ONLINE COURSE DURATION

Approximately 7 minutes

PASS MARK

Knowledge testing is conducted throughout the course. Test questions are designed to reinforce the information presented and must be completed by each participant. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Each participant is allowed to repeat the course three times if the course pass mark wasn’t achieved on the first attempt.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Participants who successfully pass the course will be able to print out a certificate of completion through the learning management system.
